Getting Started

The Application5 questions

Choose a Cherry-partnered healthcare provider, then complete the short digital application on your phone or computer — it takes about 60 seconds. You will see your approval decision and available payment plans instantly, with no paperwork and no phone calls required.
Most applicants receive an instant decision in under 60 seconds. In rare cases Cherry may need to verify your identity, which can add a few minutes. Once approved, you can use your plan at your chosen provider right away.
Yes. Checking your rate uses only a soft credit inquiry, costs nothing, and creates no obligation. You only enter a payment plan when you actively accept an offer at your provider.
Yes — Cherry approvals are tied to a specific practice, so you select your provider as part of the application. If you switch practices later, you simply submit a new application for the new provider.
The application must be in the name of the person taking financial responsibility. You can absolutely pay for a family member's treatment — or your pet's — but the credit check, plan, and repayment stay under your own name.

Credit & Eligibility

Credit Checks and Requirements7 questions

No. Cherry uses a soft credit check to determine eligibility, which has zero impact on your score and is invisible to other lenders. You can check your rate as many times as you like.
Cherry approves applicants with scores starting around 520, and roughly 80% of all applicants receive an approval. Higher scores unlock larger amounts and better APR offers, including 0% promotional plans.
A thin credit file does not automatically disqualify you. Cherry evaluates your overall profile, and many first-time borrowers are approved for smaller starting amounts that can grow with on-time payment history.
The most common causes are high credit-card utilization, a frozen credit file that cannot be reviewed, recent delinquencies, or mismatched identity details such as an address or SSN typo. Denials never affect your credit score.
Yes. Denials are not permanent — if your utilization drops, a collection clears, or you unfreeze your credit file, a new application after roughly 60 days can succeed.
Yes, Cherry accepts an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) for identity and credit verification if you do not have a Social Security Number.
Cherry reports your payment history to Equifax after you accept a plan. Consistent on-time payments can help strengthen your credit profile over the life of your plan.

Plans & Interest

Payment Plans, APR and Fees7 questions

Three types: Pay-in-4 (four equal payments over six weeks, always 0%), 0% APR monthly plans from 3 to 12 months for qualified applicants, and extended plans up to 24 months with fixed rates starting at 5.99% APR.
Yes — for qualified applicants it is true zero interest with no deferred-interest trap. Unlike medical credit cards, there is no promotional deadline, and interest is never charged retroactively.
Extended plans carry fixed rates from 5.99% to 35.99% APR depending on your credit profile. The rate you accept is locked for the entire term and never changes mid-plan.
It depends on the offer. Pay-in-4 collects the first of four payments at checkout, while monthly plans may or may not require a payment at treatment. Every detail is displayed clearly before you accept.
Absolutely — there are no prepayment penalties on any Cherry plan. Early payoff on an interest-bearing plan reduces your total interest; on a 0% plan it simply finishes your obligation sooner.
No. Cherry charges no application fee, no origination fee, and no prepayment penalty. The total shown when you accept your plan is the total you pay, aside from possible late fees if a payment fails.
Plans repay automatically from a linked debit card or bank account. Autopay is enabled by default so you never miss a due date accidentally.

Approval Amounts

Limits and Validity5 questions

Approval amounts typically range from $200 to $5,000 based on your credit profile and provider. Well-qualified applicants at certain practices may see higher limits.
Approvals are generally valid for a limited window — commonly around 30 days. If yours expires before treatment, reapplying takes another 60 seconds with no credit impact.
Yes, Cherry offers a request-an-increase option inside your account. Increases are evaluated on your current profile, so paying down other balances first improves your chances.
No — each approval is tied to the specific practice you selected. To finance treatment at a different provider, submit a separate application for that practice.
Yes, many patients hold multiple active plans, for example a dental plan and a veterinary plan. Each application is evaluated independently against your overall profile.

Cherry is designed to be accepted at the time of treatment or checkout. For a completed and already-paid procedure it generally cannot be applied retroactively — ask your practice about upcoming visits instead.
Yes — veterinary care is one of Cherry's most popular categories, covering emergency surgery, dental cleanings, diagnostics, and wellness exams at participating clinics.

Managing Payments

Billing, Refunds and Support5 questions

Autopay retries the charge and Cherry notifies you immediately. A failed payment may incur a late fee and can be reported to Equifax, so contact Cherry support early — they can often adjust your schedule before problems compound.
In many cases yes. Reach out to Cherry's support team through your account portal to ask about aligning your due date with your payday.
Refunds flow through your provider. Once the practice processes the cancellation with Cherry, your plan is adjusted or closed and any payments made toward cancelled treatment are returned according to the provider's refund policy.
Cherry provides an online patient portal where you can view your balance, payment schedule, linked payment methods, and payoff amount at any time.
Support is available through the patient portal and the contact options listed at withcherry.com. For questions about treatment costs or refunds, your provider's front desk is often the fastest first stop.
